Insomnia AM & PM — Limited Edition NFTs on LGND.art

In October 2021, Shantell Martin and I released two limited edition NFTs through LGND.art — Insomnia AM and Insomnia PM. The works were inspired by the delirium induced by sleepless states, where dream-like perceptions begin to influence reality.
The Insomnia pieces connect directly to my broader Language as Memory strand — the same territory explored by Lucid, which draws on a sustained sleep diary. Where Lucid embeds text within fluid simulations, the Insomnia NFTs approach the threshold between waking and sleeping through a different visual language: Shantell's drawn lines animated against shifting states of light and darkness.
The AM/PM pairing created a diptych that captured both sides of the sleepless experience — the wired alertness of late night and the hallucinatory softness of early morning. Each piece exists as its own work, but they're most powerful experienced together.
The release through LGND.art placed the work on a platform focused on accessibility and collector experience, distinct from the auction-driven model of Nifty Gateway.
