Luxury ES featured the Lapidarist NFT collection in their coverage of notable digital art releases, highlighting the collaboration between Shantell Martin and me as an example of how established artists are bringing genuine creative ambition to the NFT space.
The article described the three works and their thematic grounding — Absence, Presence, and Transience — as meditations on impermanence and self-awareness. It quoted my description of the generative process and Shantell's reflections on using the NFT medium to push her practice in new directions.
Being covered by a publication focused on luxury and design placed the work in a different context to the art press — one where the emphasis falls on craft, materiality, and the question of what constitutes value in digital objects.
