In Sheppee’s ‘Lucid’ series, text is presented as if wrapped over fabric, causing it to behave like a fluid object. In the process, its legibility is distorted, which emulates the difficulty in recalling dream experiences through its abstraction.
 
Recording dreams each morning for several years, Sheppee built an archive of vague and surreal memories which often form the basis of text in his works.
